Introduction

홈워크는 코로나-19 판데믹이 전 세계적으로 확장된 2020년 2월, 이동과 만남이 어려워진 상황에서 미술관의 활동과 기능을 온라인으로 확장하기 위해 준비를 시작했습니다. 5월 20일에 처음 공개된 웹 사이트는 2020, Stories, Books 세 개의 장으로 구성되었습니다. ‘2020’에는 국내외의 여러 작가들과 저자들의 참여로 2020년의 일상에 대한 생각, 경험한 것, 달라지는 창작의 방식에 대해 각자의 방식으로 기록해 보았고, ‘Stories’는 아트선재센터의 구성원들이 지난 미술관의 활동들 중에서 다시 돌아볼 만한 것들을 글로 써보았습니다. ‘Books’ 는 아트선재센터에서 발간된 도록과 단행본 가운데 주요 원고를 재수록하여 공유하였습니다. 홈워크는 2020년 12월 30일을 마지막으로 새로운 컨텐츠의 업로드를 멈추고, 2020년의 기록으로서 온라인에 남아있게 됩니다.

홈워크는 아트선재센터의 고아영, 김보경, 김성원, 김해주, 전효경, 정유진, 조희현의 기획과 운영으로 만들어졌고, 민구홍 매뉴팩처링의 기술지원으로 구축되었습니다.

Preparations for the HOMEWORK platform began in February 2020, at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic had spread throughout the world. Its aim was to broaden the center’s activities and functions into the online environment at a time when travel and in-person encounters had been rendered difficult. The website premiered on May 20 with three sections: “2020,” “Stories,” and “Books.” For “2020,” various artists and writers from Korea and overseas took part, individually sharing their thoughts about daily life in 2020, their own experiences, and their changing methods of creation. For “Stories,” the ASJC staff wrote about past center activities that were worth reflecting on once again. For “Books,” key examples of ASJC catalogues and publications were reassembled for sharing. HOMEWORK finishes uploading new content as of December 30, 2020, and will remain online as a record of 2020.

HOMEWORK has been planned and managed by Ayoung Ko, Bokyung Kim, Seongwon Kim, Haeju Kim, Hyo Gyoung Jeon, Yujin Jeong, and Heehyun Cho of ASJC, with technical support from Min Guhong Manufacturing.
